Question regarding backgrounds

2022.01.27 14:02 silverblaize Question regarding backgrounds

Hello! I Have two questions regarding drawing the backgrounds for storyboards.

  1. So when working in the animation industry, how polished should the backgrounds be? I keep seeing different answers. I've looked at some storyboards for Animated feature film and the backgrounds are more loose, but on TV animation they are a bit more detailed. One video from the CTN Youtube channel, someone who works in TV says that it's enough to just block out the building shapes, boxes, arches, trees, etc. without going too much into the details because that's the background designers' job. And that make sense. But I've also seen some storyboards from shows like Steven Universe and Adventure Time where they DO draw in all of the details. So now I'm confused.
  2. Does the perspective have to align perfectly on a grid? I ask this because sometimes setting up a grid not only takes up too much time, but it also makes the backgrounds look too stiff and mechanical, perfectly aligned onto a grid like that. I much prefer to set up vanishing points outside of the panel itself and then just eye ball it. Of course this means that as a result the perspective won't be perfect. If I eye ball it it probably looks okay on first glance but if you were to measure it with a grid/ruler you would see it's not perfect. But does this matter for a storyboard? I want to focus more on the camera shots, composition, and acting. And it seems almost silly to worry to much about aligning the backgrounds on a grid when this isn't going to be the final presentation anyway, since the background artists are going to take care of that. But I also don't want it to look like I can't do perspective. Eye balling it just seems more efficient for me.
Thanks in advance to anyone.

2022.01.27 14:02 TelephoneTag2123 Summit house restaurant questions

Hello from the mountain! Quick questions, we can take the gondola back down right? I’m here with two kids new to skiing and with the lack of new snow we need to stick to groomers. Also, summit house is “fancy” but it’s not 21+ correct? I am aware of the short operation hours.
Extra points if you can tell me if they actually have French fries.

2022.01.27 14:02 FluffyMcSnifferpants Dent Wireless on Galaxy Watch 4

I'm using Dent on Samsung Watch 4, in the USA. I got eSIM loaded using It finds service, but no data.
Roaming on, Partner APN, Automatic network. Any suggestions?
I added an AT&T eSIM and it works fine, so I know the service itself works.
I have removed and readded, and even added a new Team member and tried again.

2022.01.27 14:02 PachucaSunrise Recently acquired a large format printer from work, but will it be good for photo prints?

I recently acquired a large format printer from work that we stopped using. Initially it was used for "playbills" or posters for events/calendar to be displayed (I work at a country club). However, over time we stopped using it and it has just kind of sat around. Well I got the go ahead to take it, and I'm excited because I was the one who did all the research for the company before buying it. However, within the past two years I've become more and more involved in Landscape Photography. I'm wondering if this printer would be good for this sort of photography. It almost seems like its not meant for it, more for architectural mockups, CAD drawings, etc.
Before I jump into buying new supplies I wonder if (since I'm pretty new to printing on my own) it would be sufficient for the purposes I want to use it for, or if its worth selling to get something geared more towards photography prints. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!

2022.01.27 14:02 Perseus_the_Bold Question for Women: Would you prefer a man who is likely to resist and taper your advances and feminine wiles, because he is self-restrained and serious minded, or would you prefer a man who easily and eagerly gives you his full attention every time you throw your charms?

I ask as a follow up to the previous post about restricted socisexuality which mentions this research:
I have always thought it was common knowledge that women intellectually preferred men who showed maturity, restraint, self-control, and decisiveness. That women saw these traits more in men who showed resistance to feminine wiles. And therefore (somehow) such men were deemed more valuable because they show with their behavior that they can be more depended upon.
Since such men can't be easily seduced by other women, his friends, trends, gossip, prejudice, or hearsay he is more able to regulate his own thoughts and feelings totally independently from the usual influences - including your own. It means that such a man will not be putty in your hand. All the usual outside influences will not have any significant sway or power in his own actions or on his decisions/choices within the scope of his relationship with the woman he is dating.
On the flip side you have those men who give women instant attention and are easily swayed, influenced, and lulled over by women's charms. These guys melt in women's hands and have a harder time resisting women's influence over them.
Then of course there is the gigantic spectrum between these two extremes.
On the one hand you have Stoic, Self-controlled, Serious. And on the other you have Neurotic, Passionate, Flighty.
I ask women here for their thoughts on this, just in case I have been way off all these years.

2022.01.27 14:02 allidois_nguyen Banh Chung/Tet/Vietnamese Sticky Rice Cakes?

Hello! I recently moved to Greensboro and I'm not too familiar with the area. Lunar New Years is coming up and I'm looking for any places selling the traditional sticky rice cakes around the area. They are seasonal so most restaurants usually don't carry these on their menu.
Does anyone know of any restaurants/stores currently selling any?

2022.01.27 14:02 YuzaWasTaken 25 [M4F] Texas/Anywhere - Looking to meet new people!

Ello! Thought I would give this a shot since the pandemic made it harder to meet new people recently haha. I'm asian, 5'9 just turned 25, recently graduated from university last year with a bachelor's in Information Systems and associate's in Computer Science; moved to Texas from California for work as a Cloud Engineer for an IT company.
Outside of work though, you can usually find me playing games (FFXIV, osu!, Pokemon, and more) with friends or going out traveling (just trying new foods or visiting new places, close or far). I've had so many travel plans go under BECAUSE of the pandemic so hopefully, after this is all over, we can go to different places together! (Singapore, Japan, Europe, etc.)
Some small stuff: I love animals and am a dog person, though my dog recently passed a few months ago, so still trying to recover, but I'm getting there! I'm not a photographer, but I like to chase after good scenery pictures of sunrises/sunsets. I have some smaller hobbies here and there like custom keyboards, desk setups, and more.
When we first meet or talk, my personality can get a bit stiff and guarded, only because it's difficult for me to open up to and trust others. But after, you'll start to get to know the real me! There's so much I can talk about, but I'll keep this post short, and the only way to find out more is if you message me! :D

2022.01.27 14:02 Lovelyplush I'm lost and ambitious at the same time. What should I do?

I'm going to be graduating from college in the summer with a Music/Biology (Double Major) Bachelor's Degree. During the pandemic, I had lost a lot of interest in becoming a physician and fell into a deep depression that made working on school extremely hard and I became completely lethargic. Basically in the end, my Music side is good, around a 3.6 GPA, and my biology fell pretty hard, its around a 2.5 at the time typing this, hopefully I can improve it by the end when I graduate. That being said, I'm still interested in science as a career path I can choose (not music though), but I'm started to get more interested in psychology and possibly business. I DO NOT want to stay at my school any longer after graduating, due to being a small private school and being in a climate I do not like. I am feeling much better in mood and work after going through a year and a half of therapy and antidepressants (still depressed but am feeling more hopeful!)
I was thinking of taking a gap year before trying to go for graduate schools and trying to take some classes at a university rather than a community college (Some retake of classes I've already done but not so well in and some new classes that can be seen as prerequisites). I've heard many schools offer for students as a Nondegree enrollment. Money is not an issue and I want to be on my own rather than going back home to take classes, which I would keep as a last option. I do not want to include my single parent into schooling (due to the fact I pay for my college tuition alone and they can be controlling)
Any advice?
Thank you in advance :)

2022.01.27 14:02 RexRecruiting Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, Headhunter - What's your thoughts on the titles?
